Alex Cohen is a Brooklyn-based photographer currently pursuing a BFA in Photography and Imaging at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, additionally pursuing a minor in Social and Cultural Analysis. Alex is deeply immersed in the study of connection, interpersonal relationships, and self-expression. The driving force of Alex's image-making is to capture the profound relationships between subjects and to form meaningful bonds between herself and the portrayed subject. This purpose is depicted through compelling images centered around non-male and LGBTQ subjects.
Alex delves into these broad themes, looking deeper into the dynamics of friendships, connection to the body, and fashion, invariably paying close attention to the appearance and manipulation of light within compositions.
